GETTING HERE:

500 Terry Francine Street San Francisco, CA 94158

  • Do you have a physical location?
We do, but it is not open to the public at this time, so for now we have to work only by appointments. However, we are diligently seeking a suitable location in the Memphis metropolitan area that will meet all of our current and future needs as well as that of the state and local requirements for retail establishments. Our goal is to have a storefront SOON, no appointments necessary. More to come!
  • Do you work on anything other than guitars?
YES!!! We maintain, set up, repair, and condition all stringed instruments including banjos, violins, and even mountain dulcimers. Blake is huge fan of bluegrass music and loves those instruments!
  • How long will it take to repair / service my instrument?
We work on a "first in, first out" service priority which means we work on instruments in the order in which they are received. We will give you an estimate on when we expect to complete your repair or service at the time you drop it off. However, if you are a professional musician and have a tight deadline related to an upcoming performance, please talk to us about our rush priority program which we do for a fee when able.
  • Do you require payment up front?
For a normal setup, string change, wiring repair, etc, no. However, if it is a very expensive repair, like a fret replacement or neck re-set, we typically require a down payment before we start work. We try to be as flexible as we can.
  • El Segundo is a city in California, but you are in the Memphis, Tennessee area. What gives?
El Segundo is definitely a city in California, but it also means "the second" in Spanish. Our name is a nod to the majority of our customers who have graduated past beginner level playing instruments and have an idea about what is important to them in their "second" instrument. Red Foxx as Fred Sanford in the 70's era sitcom "Sanford & Son" also made hilarious references to El Segundo in a few of the shows. We are big fans of those reruns.
  • Have you really been in business since 1968? That would make you, like, really old.
The "Since 1968" on our logo is a playful nod to Blake, who has been playing and thinking about guitars since he was born. We have been working on guitars for customers for quite a while but decided to go all in and form our corporation in Tennessee in 2025 after graduating from Southeast Guitar Repair Academy where we gained all the training and skills to perform the highest quality repairs.
  • Do you warranty your work?
Absolutely! If we perform a setup on your instrument, and it needs tweaking after being in different temperature settings, humidity, or on the road, bring it back in within 30 days and we will adjust for you at no charge without you having to put in back in the queue. We also guarantee all of our work for craftsmanship and the quality of the repair. For example, if we re-wired your electronics and something happens to come unsoldered (rare), we will fix it at no charge. We want you happy with our work, and we want long-term customers.
