ELECTRONICS
If the volume or tone knobs on your guitar are scratchy, maybe all they need is a good cleaning. Same thing with your pickups. If they have lost their punch or seem weak, it could just simply be an issue with the wiring which can be easily fixed.

PICKUP SWAPS & INSTALLS
The choices! Today there are so many options to achieve the perfect tone and sound that suits you. We don't make specific brand recommendations because it is such a personal choice, but we have guitars you can try that have Seymour Duncans, Dimarzios, Fenders, Gibsons, etc. We install and work on all of them. Come try some out, pick out what you like, and we can get it ordered and installed for you!

FRET WORK
We love technology at El Segundo, when it makes sense. We also really love performing fret dresses, fret replacements, etc. because it is incredibly exacting work that takes time and patience and skill and the payoff for the player is huge!

Here are our thoughts about Plek machines. ​Please "check before you Plek." The robot doesn't know you or your guitar, only the settings the operator plugs into the computer. That operator may or may not be a trained and skilled technician, and the machine can easily damage a guitar's frets and finish. We have seen that happen.
​Like our master instructor, Barrett Culpepper, who is one of the most talented fret artists in the world, we don't own a Plek machine and never will.​​​​​

ACOUSTIC GUITARS
Acoustic guitars are some of our favorite instruments. Sometimes they need a little attention like regluing lifting bridges, repairing separated braces, or repairing binding. We love all brands and have several in our shop for you to try. Let us help you find the right string gauge, set the action to specs, and do a complete setup that will make it play fast!

Do your warranty your work?
Absolutely! If we perform a setup on your instrument, and it needs tweaking after being in different temperature settings, humidity, or on the road, bring it back in within 30 days and we will adjust for you at no charge without you having to put in back in the queue. We also guarantee all of our work for craftsmanship and the quality of the repair. For example, if we re-wired your electronics and something happens to come unsoldered (rare), we will fix it at no charge. We want you happy with our work, and we want long-term customers.
How long will it take to fix my instrument?
We work on a "first in, first out" basis, so we handle instruments in the order they arrive. We'll give you an estimated completion time when you drop off your instrument. If you're a pro with a tight deadline, ask us about our rush priority program for a quicker turnaround (for a fee).
Do I need to pay upfront for repairs?
For standard services like setups, string changes, or wiring repairs, no upfront payment is needed. For more expensive repairs, like fret replacements or neck re-sets, we usually ask for a down payment. We're as flexible as possible.
Can you fix other stringed instruments too?
Absolutely! We handle all stringed instruments, including banjos, violins, and even mountain dulcimers. Blake, our bluegrass enthusiast, especially loves working on these!
